Yes. We provide fine and antique jewelry appraisals for insurance purposes, which is more important than people think. If something is misplaced, stolen, or damaged, your insurance company will refer to the jewelry appraisal document to settle the claim. If your appraisal is outdated, it will likely result in your jewelry being under-insured, which could cost you thousands. What is the best way to get jewelry appraised?

We typically charge around $125 for each piece of jewelry you would like appraised. However, the full amount will be determined by the complexity of your piece. This means how many gemstones it has, the type of metal, the intricacy of the design, etc. If you don’t know if your jewelry would even be worth that $125, we can offer a quick evaluation for free so you know the general value and whether it’s worth it or not!

Does my jewelry leave the store?

Not at all! Your jewelry stays right here in the store in our hands until the appraisal is finished. They are conducted by our certified jewelry appraisers and trained gemologists on-site, ensuring that your piece remains safe and well cared for. 

Are your jewelry appraisers certified?

We are members of the American Gem Society, which means we are committed to providing you with educational products to inform and protect you in regard to your jewelry. Our GIA Graduate & AGS certified gemologists will help you every step of the way!

How long does a jewelry appraisal take?

Appraisals generally take a week or less.   If time permits, we are more than happy to accommodate having them done sooner!

What should I bring with me to the appointment?

To get the most accurate appraisal possible, please bring the jewelry, receipts, any old appraisals, and laboratory reports if you have them.

Do you purchase jewelry?

Yes, we purchase estate and antique jewelry. However, we do not suggest having us do a formal appraisal if you want us to purchase. We will make you an offer which you are welcome to shop around. We are knowledgeable in the jewelry market and will do our best to give you a fair offer.

Please note, we do not buy back jewelry purchased from Cline Jewelers. However, we do offer in-store credit towards upgrading center diamonds and diamond studs equal to the price of what you purchased.

Is my piece of jewelry insured while it is at your store?

Yes, we are fully insured and your jewelry will be stored in our safe.
